"C" (combat) rations were a staple food for American soldiers from World War II to Vietnam. I think we can call it the “Original Bento”.

Note: If you don't have a double boiler, you can use a saucepan and a small glass bowl instead. Add a little water to the pot. Place the glass bowl into the pot. It should fit on top of the pan, but not touch the bottom.

When the boy started eating cherries, he started coughing and choking. James took the bottle back and sent it off with his brother emptying it, filling it with whiskey (from what I had collected) and adding enough cherries to fool the censors and inspectors. I just noticed that I don't have the book right now, but it's there. I thought up recipes on the spot and made them according to my taste.

When not fed, soldiers are fortunate enough to receive hot meals prepared by military cooks in field kitchens. please.
