Fort Leonard Wood Pharmacy - Fort Leonard Wood Post Exchange Pharmacy will begin offering curbside drive-thru service on Monday, April 6.

According to Dr. Nancy Alavanja, interim pharmacy manager, the new policy helps maintain social distancing by allowing patients to wait in their vehicles instead of congregating at the pharmacy.

Alavanja said that the new service is available during normal PX opening hours - from 9 am to 6 pm. Monday to Friday - additional availability from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On Saturdays (during the lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, when the new service is not available).

- Designated spots in the PX parking lot will be marked for drop-off and pick-up with signs to help patients know where to go.

- Patients show their identity and if the prescriptions are ready, the runner goes to get the medicines.

- Parking spaces are reserved for patients who need filled prescriptions that have not been called in before or who have to deliver paper prescriptions for processing. A member of staff informs the patient when he is due to return. If the patient submits the prescription information before 1:00 p.m., they can return after 3:00 p.m. to collect their medication. If the request is made after 13:00, they can pick up the prescriptions after 10:00 on the next business day.

Most of the new services are provided by the pharmacy staff at General Leonard Wood Community Hospital, with volunteer assistance from 368th Training Squadron pilots.
